When we started pushing the limits of the 3.6L engine, we discovered the factory cylinder head bolts were not up to the task. In fact, they would begin to stretch around the 12 psi mark and allow compression to leak, which resulted in blown a head gasket. Whether you have a Supercharged Wrangler or an Extreme Turbo Build running big boost, you will not get far without the proper fasteners installed. Choosing the proper head stud or head bolt is crucial to meet your performance needs. While they both are types of fasteners, each one has its own particular benefits including, ease assembly and disassembly, torque pressure, gasket alignment, and overall performance. We found that head studs were the proper design to use given the high-performance nature of the turbo system.

When choosing a supplier for our head studs, the choice was simple. ARP was the first company to design and engineer fasteners specifically for racing applications. They have pioneered the industry in high-strength, high performance automotive fasteners and have continued to dominate the industry since 1968. All their products are made in the USA from USA sourced materials!
